Product Overview
| Description | Carboxypeptidase B (CPB) catalyzes hydrolysis of the basic amino acids, lysine, arginine, and ornithine from the C-teminal position in polypeptides. It occurs as a zymogen in the pancreas of most vertebrates. Source: Porcine pancreas Form: Chromatographically purified and supplied as a solution in 0.1M sodium chloride. Activity: ≥170 units/mg protein Unit Definition: 1 unit hydrolyzes 1 micromole of hippuryl-L-arginine per minute at 25°C, pH 7.65. Quality Control: SDS-PAGE Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
