Product Overview
| Description | Cathepsin D is an estrogen-regulated protein associated with tissue breakdown. Levels of cathepsin D have been positively correlated with recurring breast cancers of both node negative and node positive types. Additionally cathepsin D has been associated with amyloid formation in Alzheimer’s plaques. As cathepsin D activity is increased by cigarette smoke, the enzyme may contribute to lung tissue damage in smokers. Source: Cathepsin D, from human liver. Activity: ~365units/mg Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or dH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
