| Description | Human complement C5a is a 74aa glycopeptide generated during complement activation from the alpha-chain of complement C5. C5a is a potent chemotactic factor for human peripheral blood neutrophils and monocytes, and is believed to play an important role in a number of inflammatory conditions. The 74aa, human C5a protein expressed in E. coli has an activity similar to that of serum derived C5a based on enzyme assay of myeloperoxidase release. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to 74aa from human Complement Component 5a (C5a), expressed in E. coli. Biological Activity: As active as that of serum derived C5a based on enzyme release assay of myeloperoxidase. The current lot of ED50 = 1.36nmolar. Endotoxin: <0.1ng/ug Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with ice-cold sterile dH2O, 2.5mg/ml BSA. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
