| Description | Yeast Protein Expression Services: United States Biological offers a recombinant protein expression service in yeast cells. Our two-phase system for recombinant protein expression includes subcloning into the expression vector, generating and identifying the expression of positive clones. Below is the breakdown for the standard e. coli expression service by phase. We also offer protein expression services including Mammalian Expression, E. coli Expression and Baculovirus Expression. Phase I Subcloning into Expression Vector: Amplification/isolation of the gene of interest from a customer-supplied vector and subcloning into a suitable expression vector. Verification of the subcloned gene by restriction digest and sequencing. Preparation of the recombinant DNA construct. Estimated time: 2 weeks; If insert > 2kb, one week additional per 1kb. Phase II Generation and Identification of Expression Positive Clones: Transformation of recombinant constructs into a suitable yeast strain. Small scale induction to over-express target protein. Test for recombinant protein by SDS-PAGE and western blot (customer must provide appropriate antibodies) Estimated time: 2 weeks |
