Product Overview
| Description | MTHFD2 is also known as Bifunctional methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase/cyclohydrolase, mitochondrial. MTHFD2 protein possesses three distinct enzymatic activities, methylenetetrahydrofolate dehydrogenase, methenyltetrahydrofolate cyclohydrolase and formate-tetrahydrofolate ligase. Each of these activities catalyzes one of three sequential reactions in the interconversion of 1-carbon derivatives of tetrahydrofolate, which are substrates for methionine, thymidylate, and de novo purine syntheses. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to aa30-350 from human MTHFD2, fused to His-tag at N-terminus, expressed in E.coli. Molecular Weight: ~37.2kD (344aa), confirmed by MALDI-TOF Applications: Suitable for use in SDS-PAGE. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
