| Description | Recombinant E. coli-derived MutS is a protein component of the mismatch repair pathway, selectively binding DNA fragments containing mispaired or unpaired bases. MutS binds mismatches that most resemble base pairs (i.e., G:T mismatches in G:C rich regions), allowing MutS to be used for mutation/SNP detection and isolation applications and mismatch repair structure/function studies. Protease Activity: No significant degradation of protein by SDS-PAGE or loss of activity, after 16 hours at 37°C. Nuclease Activity: No detectable nuclease activity when incubated with single or double stranded DNA for 16 hours at 37ºC. Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for 6 months after receipt at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
