Product Overview
| Description | Pectolyase contains two types of pectinase, endopolygalacturonase (E.C.3.2.1.15), endo-pectin lyase (E.C.4.2.2.3) and a maceration stimulating factor. Pectolyase is used in plant protoplast preparation to digest cell wall prior to organelle isolation. Purified pectinase is a multi-component preparation highly effective in depolymerizing plant pectins with varying degrees of esterification. Important enzymatic activities include pectin lyase (EC 4.2.2.10) and activities on polygalacturonic acid (pectin) and nonmethylated polygalacturonic acid (pectate). The product contains substantial hemicellulase, cellulase, pectinesterase and xylanase activities which together with pectin lyase and polygalacturonase work synergistically to digest plant cell wall tissues. CAS No: 9033-35-6 Molecular Weight: 373.90 Source: Aspergillus japonicus Appearance: Supplied as a brownish powder. Specific Activity: ≥1000 units per gram (pectin lyase) Unit Definition: One unit will liberate 1umole of galacturonic acid from polygalacturonic acid per minute at pH 5.5 at 25°C. Assay Principle: Pectin—-pectin lyase—->Oligosaccharides with terminal 4-deoxy-6-methoxy-a-D-galact-4-enuronosyl groups. Enzymatic Reactions, Major: Pectin Lyase (4.2.2.10) Polygalacturonidase (3.2.1.15) Galacturan 1,4-α-galacturonidase (3.2.1.67) Enzymatic Reactions, Minor: Cellulase (Endocellulase (3.2.1.4), Exocellulase (3.2.1.91), Cellobiase (3.2.1.21)) Hemicellulase (3.1.1.73) Pectinesterase (3.1.1.11) Xylanase (3.2.1.8) pH: 4.5-6.5 (effective range); 5.5 (optimum); 4.0-7.0 (stable range) Loss on Drying: ≤5% Solubility: Soluble in water Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial prior to removing the cap. |
