Product Overview
| Description | RBP4 belongs to the lipocalin family and is the specific carrier for retinol (vitamin A alcohol) in the blood. It delivers retinol from the liver stores to the peripheral tissues. In plasma, the RBP-retinol complex interacts with transthyretin, which prevents its loss by filtration through the kidney glomeruli. A deficiency of vitamin A blocks secretion of the binding protein posttranslationally and results in defective delivery and supply to the epidermal cells. Source: aa179-201, Human Molecular Weight: ~2747.14 Sequence: Leu-Ala-Arg-Gln-Tyr-Arg-Leu-Ile-Val-His-Asn-Gly-Tyr-Cys-Asp-Gly-Arg-Ser-Glu-Arg-Asn-Leu-Leu Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Stable for 12 months after receipt at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile buffer or ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap.
