Product Overview
| Description | Recombinant Retinol Binding Protein comprises a 183 amino acid fragment (19-201) corresponding to the mature Retinol Binding Protein and is expressed in E. coli with an amino-terminal hexahistidine tag. Retinol binding protein (RBP4) belongs to the lipocalin superfamily of proteins. It is synthesized and secreted by hepatic paraenchymal cells and is involved in the binding of retinol and transthyretin preventing loss by glomerular filtration and renal excretion before transport to the peripheral tissues. Applications: Suitable for use in ELISA. Other applications not tested. Recommended Dilution: Optimal dilutions to be determined by the researcher. Storage and Stability: May be stored at 4°C for short-term only. For long-term storage and to avoid repeated freezing and thawing, add sterile glycerol (40-50%), aliquot and store at -20°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 12 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
