Product Overview
| Description | Staphylokinase (SAK) is a 136aa enzyme from Staphylococcus aureus. It is positively regulated by the “agr” gene regulator. It activates plasminogen, which in turn can degrade various host proteins during infection. Source: Recombinant protein corresponding to Staphylokinase, a non-glycosylated polypeptide chain containing 136aa, expressed in E. coli. Molecular Weight: ~15.5kD Biological Activity: Measured by the ability of fibrin lysis in agarose plate and was found to be ~4600IU/mg. Storage and Stability: Lyophilized powder may be stored at -20°C. Reconstitute with sterile ddH2O. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Store at -20°C. Reconstituted product is stable for 6 months at -20°C. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Further dilutions can be made in assay buffer. |
