Product Overview
| Description | HIV-1, the causative agent of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS), contains an RNA genome that produces a chromosomally integrated DNA during the replicative cycle. Activation of HIV-1 gene expression by the transactivator Tat is dependent on an RNA regulatory element (TAR) located downstream of the transcription initiation site. This protein is a transcriptional repressor that binds to chromosomally integrated TAR DNA and represses HIV-1 transcription. In addition, this protein regulates alternate splicing of the CFTR gene. A similar pseudogene is present on chromosome 20. Primary Sequence (aa): 1-414 Tag/Fusion Partner: His tag at N-terminus Applications: Suitable for as a standard in ELISA and Western Blot Other applications have not been tested. Quality Control: SDS-PAGE at ~30kD Storage and Stability: Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing and store at -70°C. Aliquots are stable for at least 6 months. For maximum recovery of product, centrifuge the original vial after thawing and prior to removing the cap. Important note: This recombinant enzyme has NOT been tested with regard to biological activity. |
